Sam Council: Instructor/Head Corporate Challenge Facilitator
It's true that racers at the back of a race have more fun and I've had more than my fair share. Nothing tastes better than a slice of pepperoni pizza eaten at a sidewalk cafe half-way through a 10k race. As soon as I realized that slice cost me $135 (the race entry fee) I began the slow process of moving up towards the front of races. Possessing little natural athletic ability and diminished mental capacity, I'm forced to understand the tight link between training quality and race results. I'm certain that people can do almost anything if they focus on a challenging target and train their way to it. All they need is patience (crawl, walk, run), a plan, and a little help from their friends. So, let's have some fun!
Sam measures his leadership by the success of his followers. When people are around him, participating in his programs, they have great fun while pursuing hard targets. His humorous approach masks an unparalleled attention to detail as he balances directing, coaching and listening. Sam is a great teacher.
Sam's group programs provide participants with many small victories - allowing them to safely push against their self-imposed boundaries. All the while, they feel valued, challenged, and respected as a highly trusted and lasting relationship develops.
In addition to his role as Group Director, Sam is Executive Director of Hammer Adventure Clubs for children. He holds a Masters of Business Administration and has received numerous leadership honors during his business career.
