Artur Sagat - 6 Hours of Tsali Race Report
There were hundreds of people out there. Great race by the
GoneRiding crew once again. I raced 6 hour solo. No way I could do
two 12 hour races in 14 days.
I was in second all the way until the
5th lap and then Shane caught me on the fire road. BTW that was a
killer fire road. I was sure the world would end soon.
Anyway I
slowly caught back up to Shane and we rode together for a little
while and by the sixth lap I had passed him. Made the cut-off with
20 minutes to spare. Seventh lap I peddled like there was no
tomorrow.
Next thing I knew I was standing in the transition area
with my parents and bro. I was dirty, dusty, covered in drool,
sweat, and energy drink. I lost about 5 pounds of not water but fat.
Next thing I knew I was in the comfort of my kilt with only a pro
beating me by 7 minutes.
I rode 79.8 miles in 5 hours and 55
minutes. Avg speed including pits was 13.4 mph. All that said, it
was easier than my second place finish at the 12 Hours of Yargo.
