Madeleine Pilchard: Instructor
Madeleine Pilchard is a nationally ranked Division I college swimmer who has been swimming competitively for more than 17 years. After earning a full scholarship to Eastern Michigan University she is on her way to becoming the most decorated female swimmer of the program and one of the top swimmers in the history of the Mid-American Conference. She will be finishing up her senior year this 2007-2008 season as team captain and plans on participating not only in triathlons and more open water swims but also in as many Hairy Scary Evolutions as possible.
With over 4 years of coaching experience, 6 years of teaching lessons, and 5 open water swims under her belt, Madeleine is Hairy Scary's chief swimmer and go-to gal for any and all swimming instruction.
- Ranked 37th and 39th in the nation in the 200 and 100 Freestyles, respectively
- 2 time Mid American Conference Swimmer of the Year
- 7 time individual Mid American conference Champion
- School record holder in the 50, 100, 200, 500 freestyles and the 100 backstroke
- 3 year varsity letter winner
- Trained under legendary swim coaches Jon Urbanchek (University of Michigan 1982-2004 and 2008 Olympic Head Coach Jack Bauerle (University of Georgia 1979-Present)
